What I Bought in Seville: Beauty, Fashion & Beautiful Finds Over 50

There’s something about shopping when you’re away that makes even the smallest purchase feel a little more special.

I recently spent some time in Seville and, although this wasn’t meant to be a shopping trip, I came home with quite an eclectic collection of beauty, fashion, home and little souvenir finds.

Some were things I’d been hoping to find, some were complete impulse buys, and several turned out to be considerably cheaper than I could buy them for at home.

Here’s what came back to the UK with me.

Beauty Finds from Seville

Beauty shopping is always going to find its way into my suitcase, and this trip was no exception.

One of my favourite discoveries was at L’Occitane, where I bought two of the Amande hair and body mists.

The Amande Sublime Hair & Body Mist is a beautiful almond fragrance, but the one that really caught my attention was the limited-edition Amande Crème Brûlée Hair & Body Mist.

It has that lovely roasted almond and caramelised vanilla scent that feels absolutely perfect as we move into the new season — warm, cosy and comforting without feeling too heavy.

I’d already noticed the Crème Brûlée range appearing all over social media, so I was particularly pleased to find it in Seville.

Both mists were around £33 each compared with £39 in the UK.

My Caudalie Finds

I also visited Caudalie and came away with two serums.

The Resveratrol-Lift Instant Firming Serum is one I already wanted, and I paid around £32 compared with £52 in the UK.

I also bought the Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum, one of Caudalie’s best-known products worldwide. Surprisingly, I’ve never actually used this one before, so I’m really looking forward to trying it.

That was £40.32 compared with around £52 at home.

Another beauty bargain appeared somewhere I wasn’t particularly expecting it — duty free.

I found the Gatineau Miracle Eye Contour Cream for £25, compared with around £36 in the UK.

And then there’s the Marvis toothpaste.

Toothpaste may not be the most exciting holiday purchase, but I love those little products that make something completely ordinary feel slightly more luxurious. Marvis is exactly that — a little way of elevating the everyday.

A Seville Pharmacy Stop

Of course, I couldn’t go to Spain without having a look inside a pharmacy.

Spanish pharmacies are fascinating if you love skincare and beauty. I enjoyed simply browsing and seeing what was different from home rather than going in with a huge shopping list.

This is actually something I’d like to explore more on another trip — particularly Spanish pharmacy skincare and products that aren’t as easy to find in the UK.

For me, that’s part of the fun of beauty shopping abroad: discovering rather than simply buying the same products I’d pick up at home.

My Best Fashion Bargain – Adidas Trainers

Possibly the bargain of the entire trip wasn’t skincare at all.

I found this fabulous pair of Adidas trainers for £44.

The UK price was around £90, and even when I looked online at sale prices, the cheapest I could find was still around £63.

They’re certainly not a boring pair of trainers either. The animal print with the bright blue laces makes them exactly the sort of slightly quirky find I love.

I’m a big Adidas trainer fan anyway, so there wasn’t much chance these were being left behind.

I also found a pair of burgundy and pink striped barrel-leg jeans. They were cheaper in Seville too, but it was really the colour and shape that sold them to me. Burgundy feels perfect heading into autumn, and I find the barrel shape incredibly flattering.

The Little Things I Brought Home

Not everything I buy when I’m away needs to be a bargain or a big-name product.

Some of my favourite purchases were simply things that reminded me of Seville.

I brought home a couple of handmade soaps and a bottle of Agua de Sevilla fragrance — much more of a memory and souvenir than a carefully researched beauty purchase.

I also found a beautiful handmade notebook, a pen and retractable pencil, some lovely wooden beads and two other necklaces.

Then there were the practical finds: inexpensive reading glasses and sunglasses that I can throw into my handbag without worrying about them, along with a lovely striped glasses case.

These are often the things I enjoy finding most when I’m travelling. They’re useful, but every time I pick one up there’s also that little reminder of where I bought it.

And Yes… I Brought a Lamp Home

This may be my most Beautiful Things at 50 purchase of the entire trip.

I’d already had my eye on a lamp from Zara Home — and then spotted it in Seville for £16 less than the UK price.

So naturally, I bought it.

Getting a lamp home from Seville wasn’t perhaps the most sensible addition to my luggage, but it fitted into my rucksack and made it back safely.

Now it’s sitting on my shelf at home, and I absolutely love it.

Were Things Cheaper in Seville?

For several of the things I bought, yes — noticeably so.

The biggest difference was the Adidas trainers, but there were worthwhile savings on my Caudalie skincare, Gatineau eye cream and L’Occitane mists too.

I wouldn’t travel to Seville purely to shop — there are far too many beautiful things to see and do — but if you’re already visiting, I would definitely leave a little room in your suitcase.

Final Thoughts

What I love most about this haul is that it isn’t particularly sensible or coordinated.

There’s serious skincare next to toothpaste, a pair of statement Adidas trainers, handmade jewellery, reading glasses, soap, a notebook — and somehow even a lamp.

But that’s exactly how I like to shop.

Some things are an investment, some are a bargain, and others are simply beautiful little things that make everyday life a bit nicer.

And now they all remind me of Seville.
